Position summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive individual to join our team as an Accounting Specialist with an accounts payable emphasis. This position will be responsible for managing and processing accounts payable functions, including reviewing, entering, and routing invoices for coding and approval, as well as maintaining accurate vendor data and records. The role will focus on improving the accounts payable workflow and ensuring proper approval and routing of invoices. Key duties will also include processing monthly management fee payments, performing weekly payment runs (including ACH), and managing vendor communication via email and phone. Additionally, this position will assist with reviewing and updating department processes, handling expense reports, and providing support for various projects as directed by management. This position requires strong organizational skills, the ability to resolve discrepancies, and a commitment to maintaining professional internal and external relationships.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Accounts Payable Functions:
- Review, enter and route invoices into the system for coding and approval
- Innovate and improve the AP workflow system
- Reconcile vendor statements
- Ensure all invoices are properly approved and coded
- Ensure proper routing for invoices
- Prepare and perform weekly payment-runs (including ACH payments)
- Correspond with vendors via email and phone.
- Maintain vendor data and electronic records
- Research, track and report on payable issues and discrepancies
- Review and process expense reports for payment
- Assist in the review and update of department processes and procedures
- Perform various projects as directed by management
- Maintain professional internal and external relationships
Required Education, Experience, and Technical Knowledge
- Two- or Four-Year degree preferred, or applicable experience.
- Must have experience with MS Office Suite.
- Must have accurate and efficient typing skills.
