During this program, John Morosco, Small Business Development Center, will share the best recruitment policies used by several top business operations known for their extraordinary hiring practices. A good recruitment process may allow your organization to find qualified candidates quickly and efficiently and increase retention. Retention has become key to success in today’s complex HR process.
John will also address problems hiring managers may encounter in 2021 and how some industry leaders outsource recruitment processes to outside agencies. We will discuss some current trends for and against the use of these vendors.
The outcome of this informational session is to share the latest business practices others are using to create longevity and loyalty in an organization.

John is a Certified Business Advisor with over 30 years of small business experience which includes business ownership. Much of his career has been spent working to maximize the customer experience while still making a profit to sustain the business. Before joining the Washington SBDC, John was a business advisor in the U.S. Virgin Islands. He has extensive experience managing restaurants, hotels, assisted living facilities and skilled nursing facilities. He also owned an Italian restaurant and started his own janitorial services company, which he later sold.
While in the U.S. Virgin Islands, John taught hospitality and business courses at the University of the Virgin Islands, where he was an assistant professor. John holds a Bachelor of Science in Hotel, Restaurant, and Tourism from Florida International University and a Master of Public Administration in Long-Term Care from the University of New Haven.
