Wenatchee High School “Fiesta de Mariachi” brings back the acclaimed Mariachi Chula Vista, from Chula Vista, California

The Wenatchee High School's performing group, Mariachi Huenachi, will be joined by Mariachi Chula Vista, from California for two spirited mariachi concerts in Wenatchee.

Mariachi Chula Vista has performed at more than 800 events and has earned a reputation as one of the best student mariachis in the country. The group was featured on the front-page of the New York Times in 2005 and has appeared at festivals in Albuquerque, Tucson, Las Cruces, Santa Barbara, San Diego, Phoenix, and Guadalajara and has shared the stage with such famous groups as Mariachi Los Camperos de Nati Cano, Mariachi Sol de México de José Hernández, and the Mariachi Vargas de Tecalitlán.

Mariachi Chula Vista took First Place at the 2004 Battle of the Mariachis in San Diego, First Prize at the 2004 and 2006 Mariachi Spectacular Competitions in Albuquerque, and at the 2006 and 2007 San Juan Capistrano Competitions. The group is directed by Mark Fogelquist.

Wenatchee’s own Mariachi Huenachi, under the direction of Ramon Rivera, has performed extensively all over the Northwest including at the Seattle Seahawks and Mariners games, and has shared the stage with the Grammy Award winning group, Los Tigres del Norte.
