As a city steeped in history, East Wenatchee boasts the remarkable tale of Miss Veedol, an iconic aircraft, which made history when it crash landed on the bluffs of East Wenatchee on October 5, 1931. Clyde Pangborn and Hugh Herndon flew Miss Veedol from Misawa, Japan, making the first nonstop, trans-Pacific flight, capturing global attention and marking a pivotal moment in aviation history.
