The Taproom Manager plays a vital role in living our purpose of Brewing Connections and Crafting Joy by leading daily operations of our taproom. This position ensures that every guest enjoys an outstanding experience, that every team member feels supported and empowered, and that the Taproom runs with excellence, integrity, and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:
Guest Experience & Hospitality
- Lead by example to create a warm, welcoming environment that consistently exceeds guest expectations.
- Ensure every guest enjoys prompt, friendly, and knowledgeable service.
- Monitor guest satisfaction metrics (reviews, surveys, feedback) to achieve and maintain positive guest ratings.
- Maintain high standards for food and beer quality, presentation, and cleanliness.
- Resolve guest issues swiftly and professionally to reinforce trust and loyalty.
- Work with Hiring & Training Coordinator to recruit, train, and develop an engaged, high-performing team that embodies our purpose and values.
- Conduct regular team meetings and biweekly one-on-one touch bases to provide coaching, recognition, and constructive feedback.
- Lead the performance review process for all employees by conducting regular evaluations, identifying development opportunities, and ensuring accountability for performance goals.
- Set clear expectations and track progress using performance metrics and guest service goals.
- Build a culture of accountability, respect, and teamwork.
- Reinforce company compliance practices and uphold consistent standards of conduct across the team.
- Target staff retention through mentorship, professional development, and a positive workplace culture.
- Address personnel matters with professionalism and fairness, fostering a positive and inclusive workplace culture.
Operational Management
- Oversee daily operations of the Taproom, including scheduling, shift leadership, and cash handling.
- Collaborate closely with Director of Brewery Operations to ensure seamless coordination between taproom and brewing operations.
- Maintain accurate inventory of beverages, merchandise, and supplies; manage ordering and vendor relationships.
- Partner with Merchandise Coordinator to maintain accurate inventory of retail merchandise and apparel sold in the taproom.
- Optimize operational workflows to increase service efficiency while maintaining high service standards.
- Uphold all safety, cleanliness, and sanitation standards across the Taproom.
- Manage and maintain accuracy and functionality of the point-of-sale system and the inventory system
- Work with the VP of Wholesale Operations and the Wholesale Operations Manager, to plan beer availability and allocations for retail.
- Oversee maintenance and cleanliness of draft equipment and coolers, with ability to troubleshoot.
- Work front of house (FOH) or back of house (BOH) shifts as needed.
- Partner with ownership and marketing to plan and execute events, seasonal promotions, and community engagement activities.
- Monitor sales data and identify growth opportunities for food, beverage, and merchandise.
- Contribute creative ideas for events and campaigns that drive guest engagement and brand loyalty.
- Assisting with all sales and reporting tracking,and contributing to the preparation of reports to share with senior leadership.
Other Job Duties & Responsibilities:?

- Maintain smooth operations at all times, and stepping in to lead and assist staff as necessary during busy, peak times
- Ensure that the beers (and other beverages) on tap are acceptable to serve.
- Working with the owners and marketing department to properly market the taproom.
Qualifications & Required Experience:?
? Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of hospitality, restaurant, Taproom, or taproom management experience.
- Knowledge of craft beer / or serious interest in understanding craft beer styles and the industry
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with a proven ability to motivate and develop teams.
- Self-motivated and exhibiting an aptitude for leading, coaching, and driving excellence.
- Passion for hospitality, people skills and service standards.
- Financial acumen, including understanding of key business metrics (labor %, COGS, and sales growth).
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills with a focus on detail and follow-through.
- Proficiency with POS, scheduling, and inventory systems.
- Availability for evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events.
- Maintain Certified Food Protection Manager Certification (CFPM) through ServSafe.
- Possess or be able to obtain a WA Food Worker Card and Mandatory Alcohol Server Training (MAST) Permit.
- Possess strong knowledge and enforcement of Washington State Liquor & Cannabis Board laws and Washington State Health District guidelines.
- Possess or be able to obtain Cicerone Certified Beer Server Certification.
Physical / Environmental Demands:
- Must be able to participate in the critical assessment of beers (i.e. must be 21+)
- Ability to frequently talk, hear, taste, and smell
- Prolonged periods of sitting and/or standing.
- Ability to stand for extended periods (8-12 hours) with or without accommodation.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and drag up to 100lbs at times with or without accommodation.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and effectively manage high-volume operations and stressful situations.
- Ability to work in crowded and confined spaces.
- Work in varying temperature environments such as hot kitchens, coolers and freezers.
- Ability to frequently reach with hands and arms
- Ability to work in spaces with potentially large swings in temperature, or in sustained cold or hot conditions (indoor and/or outdoor). The taproom includes an open-air patio, so the work environment may be affected by weather and temperature changes throughout the year.
Financial Accountability and Compliance:
- Track daily sales, labor, and COGS to ensure profitability goals are met.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and monthly performance reporting.
- Ensure compliance with all company policies, state and local regulations, and alcohol service laws.
- Oversee HR functions including recruitment, onboarding, and employee relations
- Reinforce company compliance practices and uphold consistent standards of conduct across the team.?
