Opening reception: "Art and Migration in the Age of Globalization"
Thanks to museum affiliate Fiestas Mexicanas, an exhibition of contemporary Mexican art will be on display at the Wenatchee Valley Museum through Sept. 29. “Art and Migration in the Age of Globalization” is a public scholarship program of the University of Washington that honors Shinzaburo Takeda, a Japanese artist who migrated to Mexico in 1963 and has inspired many younger artists. Works by Takeda and a dozen of his disciples will be on display in the museum’s Annex Gallery. All are welcome to the free opening reception, which is sponsored by U.S. Bank and part of Wenatchee First Fridays; maps to other venues are available in the museum lobby.
