Environmental film: ''King Corn''
In the 2007 film "King Corn", two college friends move to Iowa to farm an acre of corn and then follow their corn to see what becomes of it. They examine the impact of the increasing production of corn in America, and learn that the industrialization of corn has all but eliminated the family farm. The film is a humorous and touching commentary on modern food systems and the ubiquitous nature of corn syrup. Popcorn will be served. Film sponsored by EAT and Community Farm Connection; series presented by WVMCC, Chelan-Douglas Land Trust, Trust for Public Land.
