Afternoon Program: Astronomy Through the Ages
This entertaining, informative history of astronomy features Peter Lind as 17th-century mathematician/astronomer Galileo, with Jack Day acting as the straight man. Galileo was imprisoned by the Roman Catholic Church's Inquisition for affirming that the sun, rather than the earth, was the center of the universe. A few audience members will be invited to participate in simple demonstrations. The program is geared to senior citizens, but all are welcome.
