May 17    Wenatchee Valley College Athletics Golf Fundraiser
The 2024 Wenatchee Valley College Athletics Golf Fundraiser will take place on Friday, May 17, at the Highlander Golf Club in East Wenatchee. Proceeds from this fundraiser will support WVC student athletes.

The check-in time for the event is at 11 a.m., and the shotgun start is at 12:30 p.m. 
Participants can register as a foursome or as a single player; registration is online here.

Single players will be assigned to a team. Carts, one round of golf, driving range access, food, and a swag bag will be provided. The individual registration fee is $125.

The fundraiser will also include KP and longest drive contests, mulligan purchases, a silent auction, individual hole games, and refreshments. Awards, team prizes, and silent auction winners will be announced at the social hour at 5:30 p.m.

These could be signs of loneliness, and you are not the only one experiencing it. A majority of Americans reported feeling lonely, and a Loneliness Epidemic has been declared. Loneliness is not just a bad feeling, it is harmful to your health. 
 
To celebrate  Mental Health Awareness Month, The Young Professionals of Wenatchee is hosting a workshop to educate the community on our Loneliness Epidemic and ways to combat it. We will also establish a safe gathering space where you can have heartfelt conversations with other members of the community. Loneliness does not discriminate, and we encourage all community members to attend.

The Chelan Douglas Community Action Council invites you to attend Urgency of Awareness: Creating an Inclusive Environment for Diverse Populations, a day long training program led by international presenter Jodi Pfarr in which attendees will learn how to work effectively with diverse populations.

Training Description: In today’s diverse work, our professional and personal experiences often require us to work effectively with diverse populations – whether that diversity is economic, racial, gender, etc. This unique training will allow participants to become conscious of, and better understand their personal experiences while also being open to the complexities of other’s experiences. It empowers leadership to tap into talent regardless of background, and acknowledges and spans those diverse backgrounds. Participants will leave with a very practical understanding of how to work effectively with diverse populations, helping them better manage, supervise or volunteer within their organizations or communities. This training is intended to be a framework upon which initiatives are built to ensure inclusivity.
