Young Musician Competition winner Emily Crane will be featured in Delibes’ Lakme Bell Song, the opera’s most famous aria. The orchestra will also perform the Red Pony Suite, which Copland wrote for the film based on Steinbeck’s famous short story. Bernstein’s West Side Story Symphonic Dances, an audience favorite, will conclude the program. Concert patrons may join Music Director and Conductor Nikolas Caoile in the theatre at 6pm for a Concert Prelude with background information about these fascinating pieces.
