SUMMARY:What's For Lunch? - Affordable Childcare
DESCRIPTION:Washington workers with school age children find it difficult to find affordable\, high-quality childcare. They are leaving jobs\, missing work\, quitting school and training programs because options are not available. Studies show that Early Child Education programs have positive impacts on future education and employment endeavors for children who participate in them. The issue of accessible\, affordable quality childcare and early childhood learning options was at a critical juncture prior to the COVID pandemic and has become much more challenging in the recent months due to COVID-19\, and now it's having a ripple effect throughout the economy. Washington employers must be proactive and involved in this discussion. The business community has sparked new dialogue through childcare summits\, sponsored studies\, and has a seat at the table on state task force. AWB continues to advocate for this childcare and ECL industry through a recognition of the need for more support for employer-sponsored childcare programs and reasonable and inclusive regulations. A plan for the economic recovery of Washington state and how we move forward to grow the economy and jobs\, must include our state's childcare and ECL systems. \n\n\n\nPlease register to join us!
