The Washington Roundtable and its education foundation\, Partnership for Learning\, are reaching out to business and education leaders in communities across Washington state to engage in an important conversation about the future jobs outlook for today's students\, including improving career and college readiness and raising postsecondary attainment among Washington kids.\n\n \n\nWashington state has the seventh fastest-growing economy in the nation. According to recent data from the Roundtable and The Boston Consulting Group\, there will be 740\,000 job openings in our state in just the next five years. Increasingly those jobs will be filled with workers who have a postsecondary credential\, such as a technical or industry certificate\, apprenticeship\, or degree. However\, today\, just 31 percent of Washington high school students go on to earn a postsecondary credential by the age of 26.
